Missions and Outreach

Serve The World. Across the street or across the globe.

Our primary mission started over 10 years ago, we call it Generations Church. Generations Church exists to invite unchurched people in Brunswick County to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. So if you want to volunteer at our largest mission, we invite you to serve on a team at church.

Generations is just our home base however, there's a great big world out there that we care about too. Along with youth and adult mission trips, we partner with local, national, and international ministries to extend our outreach.

The Dollar Club

Supporting outreach here, there, and everywhere. The Dollar Club is designed to be an active and flexible tool to serve our community and our world on a weekly basis. If there is an international humanitarian crisis or a house burns down in our area, chances are good that the Dollar Club is involved.

How does it work?

We ask everyone present each Sunday, young or old, to remember to give an extra dollar above and beyond their normal giving to fund the Dollar Club. That's hundreds of dollars a week, thousands of dollars a month, and tens of thousands every year. So, is a dollar worth very much now a days? Yes, and you can change lives with your dollar at Generations.

Local Outreach

We provide additional funds beyond the Dollar Club to assist in local needs. But outreach is about more than just funding. Youth and adults engage in mentoring, local projects, and assisting other local ministries. We especially encourage small groups to plan to be involved in some kind of outreach project.

Kairos is one of the needs that our small groups play a large part in.

Kairos

Kairos Prison Ministry International, Inc. is a Christian faith based ministry which addresses the spiritual needs of incarcerated men, women, youth, and their families. By sharing the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, Kairos hopes to change hearts, transform lives and impact the world.

Adopt-a-Family

Annually, Generations Church sponsors Adopt-a-Family, a mission-minded outreach to families in Brunswick County who are struggling financially or with health issues. We prepare a gift that includes a gift card for food and gift cards for presents.

If you would like to donate or refer a family who needs assistance, please download and complete the appropriate portion of this form and return it to Guest Services at church. Or you can fill out the form online. Referrals are not guaranteed to be adopted, but if they are not we will let you know.

Benevolence (Assistance)

Another way we reach out is through our Benevolence Fund. This fund allows us to care for those in need and is directed in two ways: 1) internally, eligible attenders who are regularly involved in Generations; 2) externally, agencies and ministries in our community, and occasionally beyond our community.

If you or someone you know who is regularly involved in Generations is in need of support, there is a Benevolence Request Form* available in our church office. Office hours are Tuesday-Thursday from 9am-2pm. Those eligible for assistance must also be willing to receive financial, family, or emotional counseling.

A Resource Card with a list of agencies and food banks in our area is also available to anyone. This card can be found near the Guest Services desk in the lobby at GC.

*Filling out a Benevolence Request Form does not guarantee financial assistance.

International Outreach

Each Sunday morning you support Lifesong for Orphans, an international ministry, simply by drinking coffee. We buy Gobena coffee because they send 100% of their profits to Lifesong. The more you drink, the more we give.

We also contribute to ministries like International Justice Mission as we seek to help eradicate sex trafficking. This has become a passion of ours, so we do what we can to fight this injustice for women and children.

International Mission Trips

We have a team going to Haiti to serve with Lifesong for Orphans in their brand new facility.

To help support them, follow the link below to learn more and sign up to donate items that they will need for their trip. Items that you will be donating can be brought to Generations Church from July 2nd -July 9th.
