- Read Judges 16:1-20. In what ways did Samson display the attitude, “I can handle it?” Why is this such a dangerous lie to believe?
- Have you ever told yourself, “I can handle it?” What were the results?
- Why do you think Samson finally gave in and told Delilah the truth about his strength?
- Judges 16:20 says, “But he did not know that the Lord had left him.” In Old Testament times the Holy Spirit came upon people like Samson or David for a special purpose. As a New Testament believer in Christ we’ve been promised that Holy Spirit will live within us (John 14:16-17). How do you apply Judges 16:20 to yourself today? Read and discuss 1 Thessalonians 5:19.
