QUESTIONS:

  1. Are you committing to any of the GC vows? How is it going?
  2. Discuss the statement, “Samson didn’t ruin his life all at once. He ruined it one step at a time.”
  3. Read Judges 16:1-20. In what ways did Samson display the attitude, “I can handle it?” Why is this such a dangerous lie to believe?
  4. Have you ever told yourself, “I can handle it?” What were the results?
  5. Why do you think Samson finally gave in and told Delilah the truth about his strength?
  6. Judges 16:20 says, “But he did not know that the Lord had left him.” In Old Testament times the Holy Spirit came upon people like Samson or David for a special purpose.  As a New Testament believer in Christ we’ve been promised that Holy Spirit will live within us (John 14:16-17). How do you apply Judges 16:20 to yourself today? Read and discuss 1 Thessalonians 5:19.
  7. Why is accountability so important in exposing the lies we believe?
