Meet Pastor Troy

Troy Knight is the founding and lead pastor of Generations Church. He and his wife, Tabitha, launched Generations Church in 2005 with several other families in the Southport area. He grew up in Jasper, TX, and played college football at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. He earned his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

When Troy is not leading Generations Church, he loves to read, travel with his family, and play golf. He also owns a chain of Smokehouse restaurants, where he practices quality control by sampling the brisket and ribs.

Troy and Tabitha, who recently celebrated their 29th anniversary, have two children and one granddaughter. Their son, Cameron, lives in Wilson, NC, and works in the timber industry. Their daughter, Carly, is married to Chase Dupin. Chase serves on staff at GC, and he, Carly, and their daughter Nora live in Southport. Troy’s parents, Joe and Carolyn Knight, recently moved to Southport from Texas and also attend GC. Tabitha’s parents also helped start GC and live in Boiling Spring Lakes.
