1) Was there anything from Dr. Viehman’s testimony that you can relate to?
2) He talked about 3 things that he didn’t have before he was a believer that caused emptiness in his life. He didn’t have Peace, Hope, or the Power to Change. Do you feel like you personally struggle with any of these 3 things?
Read these scriptures that he mentioned in his message:
Philippians 3:10-11
I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.
Galatians 5:13 & 16-18
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
How do these scriptures tell us to live in peace, hope and the power to change?
3) When Dr. Viehman was sharing his story he mentioned that there were 2 parts to his journey to find God.
Part 1 – He was far from God and tried to fill his emptiness with all kinds of things. He went into a time of investigation and came to the realization that he was a sinner and was separated from God. He ended up accepting Jesus as his Savior.
Part 2 – He was now a believer in Christ and everything was different. Things that used to make him frustrated didn’t anymore and he was developing a relationship with Jesus.
Read John 6:35 “Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
What did Dr. Viehman say about Spiritual food? Do you think that you are feeding yourself enough or are you spiritually starving?
4) Commit to reading Dr. Viehman’s book, “The God Diagnosis”.
