Why should someone become a follower of Jesus Christ? Two of the most powerful reasons are the peace and hope He brings. Join us as we look at the peace and hope Jesus brings when He reconciles us with God.

- Who is the peacemaker in your family? You, your spouse, a child? How do they attempt to keep the peace?
- Read Romans 5:1-2. What does the phrase “peace with God” mean? What does it mean to you personally to know that you have peace with God?
- Is peace with God a feeling or is it a position? Or both at the same time? How do we maintain our peace with God?
- Have you ever been locked out of your car or house? How did you feel when you finally gained access? Discuss the phrase “gained access” to God.
- Read Romans 5:3-5. How does our peace with God allow us to rejoice in our suffering? What are the relationships between suffering, perseverance, character, and hope? Where are you in this cycle right now?
- Read Romans 5:6-8. What did you do to earn God’s love?
- If you can’t earn it, what can you do to lose it?
- Read Romans 5:9-11. What does it mean to be reconciled to God? What point is Paul making in these verses?
- How should understanding these verses change our prayer life? Read and discuss Hebrews 4:16. How should it change the way we treat others? Read and discuss Luke 6:32-36.
