Does God grade on a curve? Am I good enough as long as I’m not as bad as the other guy? As long as we are looking for loopholes, we won’t face the reality that we are sinners in need to saving. Join us we face reality in this message.

1. We have all sinned.

2. We will all be judged or rewarded.

There is hope!

  1. Repent.
  2. Stop judging others.
  3. Seek to live a life that glorifies God above all else.

  1. Have you ever been sitting in church and seen someone walk in and thought, I can’t believe they came to church today?
  2. Read Romans 2:1-5. What are some ways that Christians justify themselves as better than those who are not Christians? (e.g. going to church, being baptized,, abstaining from certain sins, etc.)
  3. Is Christianity the only religion guilty of hypocrisy? Can you think of other examples in our world today where people hide behind religion  in order to justify sinful behavior?
  4. Read Romans 2:6-11. We learn from this passage that God will ultimately judge all people for their actions.  Read about the difference between the day of judgment for Christians and non-Christians:
    • 1 Corinthians 3:10-15: The Judgment Seat of Christ. This is for Christians.
    • Revelation 20:11-15: The Great White Throne Judgment. This is for non-Christians.
  5. What do you think about these two judgments? In your opinion, is God being fair or should He show even more leniency?
  6. Read Romans 2:12-16. According to Romans 2:13, perfect obedience to the law would declare someone righteous before God, but that’s impossible.. (Read James 2:10.) How does absolute obedience to the Law become an exercise in futility for us as Christians?
  7. If you are a follower of Jesus, your sins have been forgiven, but we know that we still struggle with sin. How does knowing that you are covered by the grace of Jesus change your perspective on the decisions you make and how you live your life?
  8. As Christians, we know that God’s grace through Jesus is available to everyone who will receive it. What should our attitude be toward those who are not followers of Jesus? How can we guide them toward His Truth?
